PEdSIG were delighted to host a session at the RCPCH annual conference in Birmingham on Tuesday 12th May 2026.

The theme of our session was ‘No Education About Us Without Us - ethical co-production with children and young people’. We were lucky to be joined by young people from RCPCH&Us and AYPH in our session to talk to delegates about their experiences in becoming involved in paediatric medical education.

The &Us team walked us through the Lundy Model concept for ethical involvement of CYP, and the AYPH team gave us some personal accounts of their involvement, as well as a demonstration of a ‘Top Trumps’ game highlighting how different CYP may respond differently to medical professionals depending on life circumstances. We recognise that it was a huge ask to present in a large hall, and also whilst being live streamed, and we are very grateful for their input.

Special thanks in particular to Leila Ellis for all her work putting this session together.

We also had a wide variety of paediatric medical education-related e-poster submissions and 5 excellent oral presentations given during the session.

Congratulations go to:

- Emma Jackson for best oral presentation

- Hannah Gil for best poster
